Quick post today as I am still not finished a rather long and detailed breakdown of all the jobs and skills we recruit for. That will be posted next week. For now, I thought I would share something really quick and useful. Since I have set up RattleBerry a big focus has been on productivity tools and tricks. It is a nerdy interest of mine and one I am happy to indulge you with good reader. Momentum I use momentum for Chrome. Every day it keeps me moving forward and a little more organised. I highly recommend if, like me, you find yourself drifting away from a task you really need to crack.

The tag-line for our site is head-hunting digital leaders. We then define that by function - UX, ad-tech & data, e-commerce, followed by programmes, development and product. I thought it would be useful to write a couple of posts that sum up each of the areas and why it makes sense for a recruitment business to tie these different functions under the umbrella of technology and digital leadership. This first post will summarise all the areas into two major subsections - experience and change. The second post will go into more detail on the specific functions and jobs. I see digital change and transformation occurring on a grand scale across clients regardless of sector. So the broadly defined word "digital" is high on the agenda of banks, airlines, gaming firms, internet based enterprises, retailers and on and on. But it means different things to different people. Over the last four years I have seen how, in the main, it all pulls together. There are two overarching groups helping business successfully adapt and deliver better service for the connected age. They are, number one - digital experience and number two, digital change.ByEdward
I am sitting here in my shiny new office in Rathgar, Ireland, at the end of week one and I am reflecting on why I took the plunge into entrepreneurship once again. I thought it would make a good topic for a post that introduces what we are trying to do here. I'll address why I am doing it and what we are looking to achieve now and for the future of the company. Hopefully, from this summary, you will get an understanding of how I can help you or not. Background to my decision I have worked in the corporate world, the SME world servicing large corporates and also in the start up space working with emerging technology firms. Functionally, I have spent about half of my 15 year career working in recruitment and talent consulting. The other half I have worked in online marketing & projects, corporate account management and, finally, digital publishing & events. So, I like to think I have a broad understanding of business, process and what it takes to get stuff done in the corporate world.
I work in recruitment, mostly senior technology, digital and online operations jobs, and I am often asked what is the best way to format a CV. Now, this is a tricky question. People don’t want to be too prescriptive as it is a subjective thing and no two people are the same. They also do not want to try and shoe-horn different professions under one template. Additionally there are a wide variety of opinions on what works and does not. So recruiters and HR professionals are reluctant to give their own take in case it is “wrong”.Byadmin

I was reading a piece from Lou Adler, one of the most published head hunters out there, on the best interview question of all time. The one thing that as an interviewer you should ask a candidate to evaluate their fit for your company and role. As a potential candidate it is instructive, have a read of it here and consider the following. If you can answer this question and deal with the 20 or so follow up questions then you are prepared for any interview.Byadmin
